What will I personally derive from Membership at the Jericho Jewish Center?
The knowledge that you are contributing to the survival of our Faith, our People, and our Jewish Community; the knowledge that you are helping to serve the Jewish Community by supporting the Religious, Cultural and Social needs of our children, our youth and our adult friends. The knowledge that the Synagogue stands ready always to serve our Jewish Community not only in times of sorrow, but in all areas of life: The naming of a new born child, the marriage ceremony, a prayer for the sick, the protection of civil liberties and spiritual rights in our community and in our schools, and on all occasions. The knowledge that affiliation with our Synagogue offers members an opportunity to enrich their lives -- through High Holy Days, Sabbath and Holiday Services; through its incomparable Preschool and Religious School Departments; through its many Adult lectures and seminars; through its devoted members and their families, our neighbors and fellow Jews who make up this congregation and this community. Finally, you will derive a personal appreciation of the fact that as you join with us in our Religious, Social, Cultural and Educational Activities; as you share with us in the work of building a flourishing Synagogue-Center, you will be joining those who have determined that the beauty, dignity and inspiration of the Jewish Heritage shall enrich our life, and the lives of our children. The Jericho Jewish Center was founded over 50 years ago. That's more than half a century and its longevity is well-deserved because it continues to provide the Jericho and neighboring area’s Jewish families with the opportunity to experience the best that synagogue life has to offer.
Membership and participation in our worship services, educational programming from preschool through adult learning, , Brotherhood and Sisterhood, holiday celebrations and social activities to suit one and all, will provide you and your family with a spiritual Jewish home and so much more.
Members of long-standing can attest to the friendships started at the JJC, and they can reminisce about, Preschool and Hebrew School carpools, Purim carnivals, and dances. They can tell you about how wonderful it was to share a simcha with temple friends, and how supportive the entire temple community can be in times of need. They can tell you about the growth of the physical home known as the Jericho Jewish Center, looking back before there was a Holocaust Memorial Garden and even before there was a newly renovated and air-conditioned Preschool, Religious School, Computer Resource Room and Library, as we now know them.
What they cannot tell you is how you, too, will look back one day and realize how much the Jericho Jewish Center has enriched your life.
Before you call the office at 516-938-2540 so that you and/or your family can join us in the Jewish experience of a lifetime, please feel free to schedule a time when you and your family can tour our facilities or attend a Shabbat or Family Serivce. It is our sincere wish that by doing so, you will be able to get a wonderful feel of who and what the Jericho Jewish Center is.
I thank you for considering making the Jericho Jewish Center a part of your life!
Shalom,
Steven M. Krauser, President
